If you encounter a crash while playing Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, and the "Unreal 4 Window" appears - we strongly suggest sending the report through the Crash Reporter that shows up after the game exits unexpectedly.
It will look like this and send all the necessary information to the development team investigating crashes. Ensure you include the details about what happened, and click on "Include log files with submission".
If you are able, and can take a screenshot, you can also include this if you want to send a ticket to support@northbeachgames.com.
Troubleshooting Tips:
If you encounter common crashes, try some of the following to see if it helps:
Update your Graphics Drivers:
Lower the Graphics Settings in-game: More information in this article
Some 3rd party applications can interfere with the game and even cause crashes in rare cases. To explore this further:
Check to see if you have any 3rd party applications that may be tuning or tweaking your PC's performance, such as Riva Tuner or MSI Afterburner. Try a fresh reboot of your computer, and to disable all of these as a test. Then launch Return to Moria to see if your results change.
We have seen in rare cases that RTSS may interfere with how our game operates.
If this doesn't help, another general troubleshooting is to close all other applications before launching the game, especially those with overlays (Medal, Overwolf, Discord, Steam)
Recording apps can also impact performance and may be a culprit that we have seen in rare cases with other players.
Similar to the above, disable them, and then try to test the game to see if results change.
Verify integrity of files on Steam
Reinstall Return to Moria. If you have a different hard drive, you may want to reinstall, and try to move your installation to see if a different hard drive helps.
Disable your anti-virus/Windows Defender temporarily to see if this is the root cause. If you find this to be too risky, you can also look at how to add Return to Moria as an exception to your anti-virus software
