What marks the end of an Expedition?
You can choose to return from an Expedition at any time, so whether the going gets a bit tough or you’ve got all the resources you need, there’ll always be a way home.
If a player leaves an Expedition early, do they risk losing the resources they gathered?
You can leave an Expedition early without any penalty. You may not have gotten all that you want from an expedition, but if you find you need to leave, everything you can fit in your backpack returns to Moria with you.
Can I influence what is on an Expedition, if I want to search for something specific?
Yes, if you complete an Expedition with a certain Resource or Enemy type, you can set a "Bias" for one of those, and it will influence what Expeditions are generated the next time it refreshes. Over time you can acquire many useful Biases and at least one Expedition will have what you want in the next refresh.
Can players make camp and rest during an Expedition?
No, it’s a get in and get out type of mission. There’s no time to rest when there’s riches to gather, dangers to avoid and a home to get back to!
What counts as “basic crafting” during an Expedition?
Players will be able to make anything from the “Field Crafting” menu in game as well as quick platforms to help you traverse the areas inside the mountain. You won’t be able to build hearths or crafting stations while on an Expedition.
Can items be repaired during an Expedition?
No, so plan ahead carefully!
Will NPCs join players on Expeditions?
No, NPCs will prefer to stay at their designated settlements within Moria, completing tasks while you head out on more risky ventures.
That said, keep an eye out for a mysterious friend who may appear and give you advice before you head on your way in an Expedition.
Is the Expedition Table available from the start of the Durin’s Folk Expansion?
Expeditions will unlock during the natural flow of gameplay, but it won't be that long to wait, especially for Sandbox.
Do Expeditions have difficulty levels?
The more late-game the resource is, the harder the expedition will be.There is a risk vs reward element to going after the later-game resources as opposed to more basic resources like iron.
While they won’t be populated with end-game only enemies, the expeditions won’t necessarily be easy either, there are new challenges to overcome with enemies including the number of enemies in an area, how sensitive your noise meter might be, etc.

What happens if you die during an Expedition?
If you die during an Expedition, you will wake back up in the starting area of the Expedition itself. You will also have all your stuff with you and won’t need to do a “corpse run” like you would in the main game.
